Learn how native plants help our environment at 9am with a tour of Caroline Park, Redlands' city park dedicated to California native plants. A tour at 10:30am of Linda Richard's yard follows, featuring a former lawn now filled with water-wise and bird and butterfly attracting plants. People are welcome to do one or both.
Goals:
Encourage people to appreciate, embrace and want to plant California native plants.
Climate impact project is addressing:
Increasing heat
Increasing drought/water shortages
Loss of biodiversity
Instructions for Participants:
At 9am, meet at Caroline Park near the interpretive sign. Park near the turnout off Sunset Drive. Please carpool as parking is limited to 10 vehicles. (Overflow parking is available along Poppy and Mariposa. on the lower part of the park, if needed). The 10:30am event will take place at Linda Richard's yard at 315 Westwood Lane, Redlands CA
Be able to walk around uneven terrain at both places.
